Meal Service is an operation within Uppsala Municipality that operates restaurants and kitchens in preschools, primary schools, high schools, as well as senior restaurants and residences within care and welfare operations. Job Description

In the role of mobile chef, you will have a fun and varied assignment with the entire Meal Service as your workplace. You will be based in one of our kitchens where you have your home base and you will work according to the needs that arise in different preschool kitchens, school kitchens, and senior kitchens. You will work in both large production kitchens and smaller preschool kitchens.

You will plan, prepare, and cook several different meals according to Meal Service's menu, as well as plan and purchase food products together with others in the kitchen. We also collaborate closely with our clients, such as schools or residences. Your tasks will include cooking, baking bread, preparing special diets, and other usual kitchen tasks. It is important that you have knowledge of food ingredients and that you can account for them to ensure that guests are guaranteed an allergy-safe and delicious meal. You will present the food in an appealing way when serving it to guests and you will interact positively with guests in our restaurants.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a culinary education and several years of documented experience as a chef. We want you to have current experience as a chef and that you have worked as a chef in the last five years. You also need to have good knowledge of food hygiene and good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• experience in special diet cooking
• good computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite
• knowledge of the Mateo system or other digital IT support for kitchens
• a B driver's license, as you will work in several different kitchens.

As a person, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing conditions. You work well with others and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner while being calm, attentive, and accommodating to help others and deliver solutions. You also have the ability to consider the best interests of the entire operation and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work to meet set deadlines.
